"아이튠 태그관리가 너무 불편해요!"라는 해묵은 불만에 부쳐
역시나 시끄럽다. 새로운 아이팟 터치가 나오고 애플의 팬덤은 또다시 술렁거리고 있다.
조만간 삼성의 비호를 받는 기자들은 P2를 칭송하며 애플의 제품을 깎아내리는 기사를 양산해 내기에 전념이 없어질 듯하다. 예전에도 그랬는데 이번이라고 안그럴 이유 있을까?
본인도 P2를 너무나 기대중이다. 적어도, 이쁜 모델이 나와서 살랑살랑 춤추며 제품을 사주세요~ 라고 하지 않고 제품의 기능성만으로 어필하는 시도 자체가 얼마나 오래간만인지. 적당한 가격이 책정된다면 주변에서 mp3를 찾는 이들에게 주저않고 권하려 한다. 실제로 애플의 기기보다는 삼성의 기기가 한국의 상황에는 훨씬 잘 부합하기 때문이다.
동영상 플레이를 원하는 이들에게 비표준 코덱을 완전히 배재한 애플의 정책 역시 이제 도마위에 오를 터이다. mpeg4코덱만 지원하는만큼 divx, wmv 등은 플레이 불가능하기 때문에 인코딩을 한번씩 거쳐야만 하는 현재 비디오팟 사용환경이 아이팟 터치에서 변화하리라 생각할 수는 없다.
서론이 길었다. 코덱 문제에 대해서도 할 이야기가 없지는 않지만 "태그관리"가 불평거리로 부각될 수 밖에 없어진 한국의 음원 향유 환경에 슬플 따름이다.
ogg가 아니라면, 동영상과 달리 음악은 mp3로 컨테이너가 동일하고 코덱도 문제가 없다. 즉 drm이 없는 mp3파일이라면 어느 플레이어에서나 자유롭게 플레이 할 수 없다.
그럼에도 태그에 대한 극도의 불만이 표출되는 현재의 상황에 대해서는 솔직하게 한가지 진단밖에 내릴 수 없다.
"어떤 식으로라도, 정상적으로 돈을 지불한 음원에 대해서 태그 정리 문제는 발생할 이유가 없다."
판매자가 제정신이라면 구매한 mp3파일의 태그는 규격에 맞게 잘 정리되어 있을 수 밖에 없다. 그리고 필자가 아는 선에서 한국의 음원 판매자들 중 제정신이 아닌 곳은 없다. (가격이나 drm은 제정신이 아니지만)
그럼에도 불구하고 태그정리에 큰 문제가 계속해서 생긴다는 것은, 소비자가 그 파일을 정상적으로 구매하지 않았다는 이야기밖에 안된다.
어찌되었든, 회사에 불법복제단속이 떴는데 내 하드 속에 수십 수백 기가의 mp3가 태그정리가 전혀 안된 파일들이 가득하다면 그녀석들의 출처에 대해서 단속반이 의문을 품는다 해도 딱히 반박할 수가 없지 않은가. 실제로 본인은 이런 인간을 기억한다 -_-.. 워낙에 고가의 불법복제소프트가 가득해서 mp3는 그냥 떨이로 빼줬지만 말이다 =_=;
결국 이야기는 원점으로 돌아온다. 불법복제. 컨텐츠 산업의 위축. 의식부족. 모랄의 붕괴.
쪼잔하게 mp3파일 좀 복제해서 들으면 안되냐는 문화는 결국 언젠가는 창조의 씨가 말라버릴 불모지라고 생각한다. 저작권은 최소한의 토양이다.
워터마크만 추가된 drm free mp3 를 원클릭으로 부담없이 사서 들을 수 있는 세상이 오기를.. 어떤 플레이어라도 좋으니까.
